Don’t punish prosecutor for stating her opinion

I just read the front-page article of the April 30 News regarding revoking the authority of Kathleen McDonald as a Cheektowaga town prosecutor. I was in total shock!

As I see it, all she did was dare to disagree with District Attorney Frank Sedita and she was fired. Is this not a democracy? He may be saying that she doesn’t know the law, but it seems to me that all she didn’t know was that you don’t disagree with Sedita. I thought that was what Everybody’s Column was all about – being able to put forth your opinion without fear of personal retribution. Last I heard, that is what this country is all about. Did it offend his prosecutorial ego?

What happened to freedom of speech? It seems to me something is not right here.
