A former Jamestown nurse was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to a year of home confinement.

Samilyn Olson, 47, had previously admitted stealing prescription forms from a nurse practitioner she worked with at a Veterans Affairs clinic and forging her colleague’s name on the forms.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy C. Lynch said Olson used the stolen forms to fill several prescriptions for oxycodone between May and September of 2010 and then distributed the painkillers.

Olson, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute oxycodone in January, told Arcara she would “never forgive” herself for what she had done and what she had lost – her career in nursing.
