HOW SWEET IT IS – The Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities will hold their 12th annual Food and Wine Tasting from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Angels Convent, 201 Reist St., Williamsville.

Georgetown Square Wine and Liquors will provide the wine. Entertaining will be Thom Diina and Ray Chamberlain. Cash Cunningham will auction off two round-trip tickets to anywhere JetBlue flies, a week in a Florida condo and a private wine-tasting party for 12, among other prizes.

Honorary hosts are Jerry and Barb Mazurkiewicz and Reg and Carol Newman. Back by popular demand is the famous “Nun-Sweeter Bake Sale” along with “Nun-Better” chocolates. Tickets are $50. For information, call 632-2155, Ext. 687.

There will be storytelling and activities for children ages 4 to 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., an authors panel on “Writing From the Heart” at 1 and an open microphone at 3. BARGAIN HUNT – Trinity Episcopal Church, 261 E. Main St., Hamburg, holds a spring rummage and bake sale from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Admission is $1. A half-price sale will follow from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, with a bag sale from noon to 1 p.m.

Eden United Methodist Church, 2820 E. Church St., will hold a rummage and bake sale from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, with a $1 bag sale from noon to 1. Proceeds benefit mission programs. For info, call 992-3168.

Holy Mother of the Rosary Cathedral, 6298 Broadway, Lancaster, will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Admission is $1. A bag sale starts at 11.


PICK A WINNER – St. Casimir’s Church will hold a basket raffle Saturday evening in the Social Center, 1833 Clinton St. Doors open at 5. Numbers will be drawn beginning at 7.

The Parents Guild at Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School will host a Cinco de Mayo meat raffle from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the cafeteria of the school at 601 McKinley Parkway. Admission is $6 and includes sandwiches and pop. There also will be basket raffles.


FRIENDLY PROPOSAL – A fundraiser to benefit Furever Friends Dog Rescue of WNY Inc. will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Tonawanda Sportsmen’s Club, 5657 Killian Road, North Tonawanda.
