Another Democrat has entered the race for Cheektowaga town justice, ensuring a primary regardless of whether the incumbent seeks another term.
Melissa A. Reese, an attorney who has also worked part time as a town prosecutor since 2011, declared her candidacy in a news release.
Former Erie County Executive Dennis Gorski, a fellow Democrat, threw his hat in the ring in March. Incumbent Dennis A. Delano Sr., also a Democrat, hasn’t announced whether he’s running for another four-year term.
Reese, who has a law office on William Street in the town, has more than 11 years of experience representing clients in criminal and civil cases. She and her husband, Cheektowaga police detective Eric Broska, have a daughter, Alyvia.
The town justice job pays $74,960 a year.
