Diane Sargent of Lockport and Pete Swales of Springville will be deployed to Florida today as part of the contingent of American Red Cross volunteers being sent to help people affected by the catastrophic flooding that has taken place in that state and in Alabama.

The two will join the 430 Red Cross volunteers from across the national already assisting residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee affected by flooding and severe tornados. Sargent and Swales will help to assess current conditions and help residents in Florida.
