The inaugural Police Athletic League NFL Draft party fundraiser will be held at The Cobblestone, 130 South Park Ave., on Thursday.
The event will feature a draft contest, trivia, random drawing, prizes and more. In addition, there will be a prize for the best Bills outfit. BASKETBALL: Buffalo Titans basketball will host the following events this summer at the Buffalo Niagara Court Center in West Seneca. Clash of the Titans AAU Tournament June 21-22 (boys) and June 28-29 (girls); Wednesday night women’s league (June 25-Aug. 20) and Monday night girls high school league (June 23-Aug. 18). BOATING: A safe boating and jet ski class will be offered at the McKinley Mall on May 17. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 3-2, will be instructing the eight-hour, ABS (about boating safety) course in the community room of the mall. The class begins at 8:05 a.m. and ends at approximately 5 p.m. Participants receive a certificate and wallet card upon successful completion of the course and proctored exam. According to state law, all jet skiers must successfully complete this course. Course graduates may be entitled to a 10 percent discount on their boat insurance. GOLF: The Buffalo Jr. Sabres Golf Tournament will take place July 7 at Westwood Country Club in Amherst. Registration for the tournament will begin at 11 a.m. with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. ICE SKATING: Learn to skate classes for hockey players and figure skaters will be run from May 9 to June 27. The classes will be held at Hockey Outlet Ice Complex in Wheatfield from 4:30 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Classes are for ages 4 to adult. WRESTLING: St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute is seeking applicants for the position of assistant wrestling coach. Applicants should have a wrestling and/or coaching background. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, coaching the team daily in practice, organizing practice routines, travel and supervision at competitions, and may also include further development of the Marauder Wrestling Club for elementary and middle school athletes.
