The National Lacrosse League’s regular season came to an end late Saturday night, and that set up the first round of the playoffs.
The Buffalo Bandits were one of six teams to qualify for the postseason. They will open the East semifinal with a game in Toronto against the Rock on Saturday. Starting time at the Air Canada Centre is 7 p.m. In the West, Calgary will host Colorado on Saturday.
The winner of the Buffalo-Toronto game will advance to the East final in a home-and-home series with Rochester. The Knighthawks would host the second game. If both teams win a game, a 10-minute mini-game would immediately follow the conclusion of the second game to determine which team advances to the championship round. The same format will be used in the West, where the Edmonton Rush is waiting for an opponent.
Cody Jamieson of the Knighthawks won the scoring title with 108 points. That includes 10 points against the Bandits on Saturday night.
