Lacrosse game to be dedicated to fallen soldier

The varsity lacrosse team at Williamsville North High School will dedicate an upcoming game to Army Staff Sgt. William R. “Billy” Wilson III.

Wilson, a former lacrosse player at Williamsville North, was fatally shot on March 26, 2012 by an Afghan security member, who turned his weapon on the soldier. Wilson was 27.

The game between Williamsville North and Spencerport will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at the high school on Hopkins Road.

Billy Wilson T-shirts will be on sale for $15, with a portion of the proceeds going to a foundation honoring Wilson.
