NIAGARA FALLS – A man was robbed and assaulted by two armed robbers at about 11:40 a.m. Thursday in an alleyway between 24th Street and Weston Avenue, Niagara Falls police reported.

The victim told officers that as he was walking south on 24th Street, two men wearing black hoodies crossed the street towards him and forced him a gunpoint to get into the alleyway. One of the men knocked him to the ground and pushed a handgun at him. While he was on the ground, the two robbers went through his coat and pants pockets and ran off when they came up empty-handed.

The victim was treated for a scrape on his neck caused the fingernails of the man who pushed him down. A nearby resident called 911 and police arrived but were unable to find the pair.
