DUNKIRK – A suspected drug pusher was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville after he turned himself in Thursday at Dunkirk Police Headquarters on a warrant for alleged sales of opiate-based narcotic substances to agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

Nicholas E. Moore, 24, of Brigham Road, Dunkirk, is being held on charges of criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance in the third-degree.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, which played a role in the investigation, said Moore was the subject of a recent three-month investigation into drug sales in Dunkirk. Spokesmen for the sheriff’s office said they launched the investigation after getting information from members of the local community about Moore’s alleged drug dealing.

The spokesmen said authorities continue to seek information from the public about suspected narcotics trafficking with the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force taking tips at 1-800-344-8702 with all calls kept strictly confidential.
