Letter: Mack wasn’t at fault in failed home deal

Mack wasn’t at fault in failed home deal

I read the April 5 News article regarding a Department of State investigation of a failed 2012 real estate transaction (67 Beard Avenue in Buffalo). It quoted a statement signed by real estate broker James Mack indicating “incompetence and/or untrustworthiness.” To link these terms to Mack is simply preposterous.

With more than 20 years of experience in real estate, I have personally worked on dozens of transactions with Mack. I can only speak for myself, however, without hesitation I can say Mack is extremely competent, honest to the core and considerate of those he represents. As well, I can say that I have never met a customer, banker, lawyer, Realtor, home inspector, appraiser or builder who would say the contrary.

Mack is incredibly kind and sincere; he is a good man in every essence of the term. I firmly believe that he is an excellent Realtor and I would not hesitate to use his services if I wanted to buy or sell my home. It sickens me to think that he would be put in a situation where he had no choice but to sign this statement.

I hope others in the community will stand up and support Mack through this terrible attack on his professionalism and integrity.
