Prime target in Jamestown heroin probe turns himself in

JAMESTOWN – A 36-year-old Jamestown man who was a prime target of a multi-agency crackdown on local heroin trafficking April 2 turned himself in at Jamestown Police Headquarters about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Cesar L. Soto is being held at the Jamestown City Jail temporarily on criminal possession of a controlled substance charges carrying possible 25-year prison terms. Soto was not at his home at 20 Willis Street when it was raided April 2 by Jamestown Police SWAT Team officers, State Police and Homeland Security agents.

A quantity of heroin, packaging material, prescription medication and stolen property was seized during that raid. The heroin investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected, according the Jamestown police officials. Anyone with information on illegal trafficking in narcotics in the Jamestown area is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department’s anonymous tip line at 483-8477.
