Gasport man charged with assault and menacing with knife

GASPORT – A man told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies he was attacked on his porch by a man at 9:20 a.m. Monday in the 4400 block of Main Street. David P. Corra, 41, of Dewhirst Road, Gasport, was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree menacing with a weapon.

The 57-year-old victim said Corra had been driving a motorcycle down the street and then stopped and ran up on the porch to attack him. The victim said Corra accused him of pointing a gun at him and also accused him of being a drug dealer. The assailant slapped him in the face and threatened to cut him with a pocketknife before closing the knife and wrapping his hand around it and before striking him in the face, the man told police. After the alleged attack the victim said Corra rode away on his motorcycle. Police located him shortly after and he was charged by deputies.

Corra was arraigned in the Town of Lockport and bail was set at $1,000. An order of protection was also issued.
