Lyndonville man charged with aggravated DWI after crashing into hydrant

YATES – A Lyndonville man was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after a crash about 6:30 p.m. Friday on Platten Road, Orleans County sheriff’s officials said.

Antonio F. Lopez, 23, was driving an SUV east on Platten when the vehicle crossed the center line and went off the north side of the road, striking a fire hydrant, deputies said. Lopez, who was not injured, also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation. He is scheduled to appear in Yates Town Court on Wednesday, sheriffs officials said.
