Jamestown official to receive HOME human rights award

Housing Opportunities Made Equal will present its Sarah G. Metzger Human Rights Award to Jamestown City Council President Gregory Rabb when it holds its 51st anniversary celebration April 25 in Buffalo-Niagara Convention Center.

Rabb, a professor of political science at Jamestown Community College, is being honored for his decades of work to help all people have fair access to decent housing, in Jamestown and, before that, Buffalo. He was the first executive director of Westside Neighborhood Housing Services in Buffalo and followed that with a number of similar positions in Jamestown.

The anniversary celebration is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 25 and is open to the public. It will include a cocktail hour, live and silent auctions, basket raffle and dinner buffet. The theme of the evening is “Communities Without Borders.” For more information, visit www.homeny.org.
