Jerry Jacobs Jr., a principal with Delaware North Cos., the Buffalo-based global hospitality and food-service business, has been appointed to serve on the U.S. Commerce Department’s Travel and Tourism Advisory Board.
Jacobs was appointed to a two-year term that began this week. He has been active in tourism and travel industry issues and already serves on U.S. Travel’s CEO Roundtable. He also recently was appointed to Georgetown University’s Board of Regents.
The Travel and Tourism Advisory Board advises the secretary of commerce on industry issues, including policy matters and efforts to attract more visitors to this country. Jacobs’ father, Jeremy M. Jacobs, the chairman and CEO of Delaware North, previously served several terms on the board.
