Cameron CEO says division attracting interest

Cameron International Corp.’s top executive told employees of the Cheektowaga plant this week that the business division they are part of has not been sold but it has attracted interest from parties in the United States and other countries, according to a source familiar with his visit who declined to be identified because he was not authorized to discuss the matter.

Jack B. Moore, the Houston-based company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, met with employees of the Broadway plant this week at a time when Cameron’s centrifugal compression division – which includes the Cheektowaga facility – could be headed for new ownership. Cameron has said it is exploring “strategic alternatives” for the division, in order to focus on business segments that target the oil and gas equipment markets. The Cheektowaga plant has about 600 employees.
