With a rash of thefts from unlocked cars, garages and sheds in the towns of Colden and Concord over the past ten days, Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard said Monday that such sites always should be locked.

The sheriff said deputies are investigating three such thefts in Colden and four in Concord, all as a result of nighttime crimes.

The sheriff also said 911 should be called immediately if any suspicious persons or vehicles are spotted. He asked anyone with information about the recent thefts to contact Detective Matthew Noecker at 667-5230 or Detective Gregory McCarthy at 667-5224,
