A new creek restoration plan for Forest Lawn Cemetery outlines options for improving water quality, habitat, bridges and abutments.

The report, started last year and released earlier this month, also assessed stability and flood risks along 2.5 mile portion of the creek that meanders through the cemetery.

The research, which will help with an effort to eliminate contaminated sediments, was part of a two-year collaboration with the Forest Lawn Heritage Foundation, Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The research was supported by a $100,000 grant from the state Economic Development Capital Program.
