Second trip to state prison for Royalton drunken driver

LOCKPORT – Brian R. Rice of Royalton was sent to state prison for the second time Friday, again for felony driving while intoxicated.

Rice, 38, of Rochester Road, was sentenced to one to three years behind bars by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas. Rice pleaded guilty in the wake of his car’s June 20 crash into a utility pole on Rochester Road. A blood test showed his blood-alcohol content was ,20 percent.

He served 19 months in prison after being convicted in 2008 of violating the terms of his probation on a 2005 DWI conviction in Steuben County.
