A former employee of Sam’s Club on Union road in Cheektowaga has been ordered to serve up to 60 days in jail on his guilty plea to a petit larceny charge for admitting stealing more than $2,800 from the store cash registers last summer to feed his drug habit, court officials reported Tuesday.

John T. McFall, 28, of Pamela Drive, was sentenced by Town Justice Paul S. Piotrowski on his guilty plea. The judge rebuked McFall but cited his chemical dependency problems and prior alcohol-related convictions. McFall was also ordered to attend drug court during the three years he will be on probation after his jail term.
