Former Sam’s Club employee sentenced to jail

A former employee of a Union Road wholesale store, who admitted stealing cash from the register, was sentenced to 60 days in jail, Cheektowaga police reported Tuesday.

John T. McFall, 28, of Depew, was sentenced Monday by Town Justice Paul Piotrowski to also attend drug court and to three years of probation.

McFall had pleaded guilty to a charge of petit larceny, related to the theft of more than $2,800 from Sam’s Club during last July and August. He originally had been charged with grand larceny, police said.

In delivering the sentence, Piotrowski cited McFall’s criminal conduct and admitted chemical dependency, as well as three prior alcohol-related convictions.
