LANGLEY, B.C. — The Buffalo Bandits come home next week, and not a moment too soon.

The Bandits lost their third straight road game on Saturday night, a 12-8 defeat at the hands of the Vancouver Stealth. The game was played at the Langley Events Centre.

When the Bandits started this stretch of contests away from home, they were 8-2 and leading the National Lacrosse League East. They come home at 8-5 and trailing Rochester, which lost to Edmonton on Saturday to fall to 9-4. Saturday’s loss cost Buffalo the chance to wrap up a playoff spot and regain a share of first in the division.

This one got away from the Bandits quickly, even if the score didn’t reflect that. Buffalo was tied, 3-3, after 15 minutes, even though the Stealth had an impressive 21-10 edge in shots on goal. However, Vancouver was more effective in beating Anthony Cosmo in the second quarter, piling up a 6-2 margin to take a 9-5 lead at the half. The teams played an even second half at three goals each.

Rhys Duch (four goals, four assists) led the Stealth. Vancouver was 5 of 11 on the power play. Eight different Bandits scored goals.

The Bandits come home on Saturday to host the Calgary Roughnecks at First Niagara Center.
