Red Cross to honor its “heroes”

NIAGARA FALLS – A charitable foundation and two disaster volunteers will be honored as Red Cross Heroes at the 23rd Annual Reverse Draw and Dinner to benefit the American Red Cross from 6 to 9 p.m. next Friday in the Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls, 101 Old Falls St.

The honorees include the Grigg-Lewis Foundation, which recently added $6,000 to its annual gift for the purchase of a new disaster trailer based in Lockport, and Paul and Mercedes Catherine, of Niagara Falls, who assisted almost one-third of all Red Cross disaster clients in Niagara County last year.

The reverse draw overturns the usual raffle procedure by rewarding the last ticket drawn with the grand prize of $3,000. Other prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.

Tickets are $150 and include hors d’oeuvres, dinner for two, one cocktail per person and a Reverse Draw entry. For information and tickets, call Faye MacClellan at 878-2396 or email
