The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency appointed Jerald I. Wolfgang a member. Wolfgang is director of the Western New York Regional Education Center for Economic Development.


A team of two seniors and two juniors, representing the Pi Sigma Epsilon student club at the University at Buffalo School of Management, recently won the annual On Target Undergraduate Club Case Competition, sponsored by Target Corp. The winners were: Jacob Bluestein of Buffalo, Safia Dandia of Endicott, Dan Maitles of Nesconset and Peter Preziosa of Lawrence. The team and club will share a $3,000 prize, with each student receiving $250 and Pi Sigma Epsilon receiving $2,000.


CBRE Buffalo’s project coordinator, Susan Heimiller, recently completed her Real Property Administrator designation. The RPA designation requires three years of qualifying, documented experience in property management at a property 40,000 square feet or larger.

Law firm Harris Beach has launched a national Collegiate Sports Practice Group to provide legal services related to the compliance and operation of a college athletic program. Harris Beach has also launched a corresponding blog, USA Collegiate Sports Blog, as a forum to discuss issues affecting colleges and universities, athletic directors, coaches, administrators and trustees. The leader of the Harris Beach Collegiate Sports Practice Group is Brian C. Mahoney, a partner of the firm in the Buffalo office.


Daemen College has received state Department of Education approval to offer a master of public health degree beginning in the fall. The 45-credit graduate program is designed to offer courses at times and in hybrid or online formats to best accommodate working students. Full-time students may complete the master-level program in 16 to 24 months.


RJR Engineering, Springville, was awarded a $37,568 federal contract for architect and engineering services for providing parking and site renovations at Bath VA Medical Center from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
