Perry woman accused of five years of welfare fraud

WARSAW – The arrest of a 49-year-old Perry woman by New York State Police and investigators from the Wyoming County Department of Social Services for allegedly obtaining over $30,000 in government welfare benefits illegally over the past five years was announced today.

Donna F. Wilson was arrested late last week on multiple charges of felony welfare fraud, offering a false instrument for filing, and forgery. Employed as a health care provider for the elderly in both Wyoming and Livingston counties, Wilson is accused of forging signatures of two dead Livingston County elderly residents and in 2009 began illegally obtaining food stamps and Medicaid and Child Care Assistance payments. She faces further criminal proceedings in Warsaw Village Court in several weeks.
