LEWISTON – Fire fighters spent about an hour putting out a fire that developed at about 7 p.m. Wednesday at one of the 13 transformers at the New York Power Authority’s Niagara Power Plant.

There were no injuries, and Power Authority officials said there were no interruptions in electric service.

Niagara County sheriff’s deputies guided traffic around the site along the Robert Moses Parkway.
