NIAGARA FALLS – The Border Patrol will hold a Citizens Academy program in April. It’s a free outreach program designed to educate the public on the Border Patrol’s history, legal authority, mission, operations, and partnerships. Attendees, who must be 18 or older, receive approximately 15 hours of instruction, tours and hands-on training from Border Patrol agents. The sessions will begin at 6 p.m., each Friday, for six consecutive weeks.

Interested parties must submit an application that involves a criminal background check. The deadline for applications is April 5. Those interested in attending may call Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Christopher Griffiths at the Niagara Falls Border Patrol Station at 285-6444.
