OLAF FUB SEZ: According to Chief Justice of the United States Earl Warren, born on this date in 1891, “Everything I did in my life that was worthwhile, I caught hell for.”


TRIPLE PLAY – Covering almost all of the season’s celebrations is the 17th annual St. Patrick, Joseph, Dyngus Day Party, which will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Buffalo Irish Center, 245 Abbott Road.

The Irish, Italian and Polish traditions all will be represented with food and music. This year’s bands include the Irish group Poor Auld Goat; the Formula Band, an Italian ensemble; and the Special Edition, a polka band.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets are available from Dan and Carol McCue at 834-7664 or the Tara Gift shoppe at 825-6700.


GET OUT THE GRILL – Meats from Market in the Square, including grilling favorites, will be featured Saturday evening at the Spring Meat Raffle in St. Casimir’s Social Center, 1833 Clinton St. at Weiss Street in Buffalo’s Kaisertown neighborhood.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The bar starts pouring at 6:30. First drawing is at 7. Admission is $5, which includes a ham or turkey sandwich, beer, pop and wine, as well as a ticket for the door prize, a 32-inch flat-screen TV.

It’s a 21-and-over event. For tickets, call Kathy Stewart at 896-1019 or the rectory office at 824-9589. Proceeds benefit the St. Casimir’s Church restoration project.


SIGNING BONUS – Buffalo Bills wide receiver Andre Reed will hold his first autograph signing session since he was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Bases Loaded Sports Collectibles, 794 French Road, Cheektowaga.

Prices are $40 for flat items and $50 for premium items. Those who can’t make it to the signing can drop their memorabilia off in advance. For info, call 656-0066.


SECRET SALE – The Mystery Pound Auction Saturday evening in St. Bernard’s Parish Hall, 1988 Clinton St., works like this: Bids are taken on mystery gifts, which weigh about a pound apiece. Bidding starts at 50 cents and tops out at $5.

Doors open at 5. The auction starts at 6. Admission is $5 and includes a slice of pizza and two beers or pops. For info, call 822-8856.


SOCIABLE SUPPLIES – All are invited to the International Luncheon and Basket Raffle at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, right after the 10:30 worship service, in Augustana Lutheran Church, 3143 Eggert Road near Colvin Boulevard, Town of Tonawanda.

FESTIVE OCCASION – Hosting a Polish Fest on Saturday evening is St. Francis of Assisi Church, 73 Adam St., City of Tonawanda. It begins with a Folk Mass at 4:30.
