Orchard Park

The Orchard Park School Board has approved a contract extension with Fisher Bus Co. at the consumer price index increase, or capped at a maximum of 3 percent, during each of the next five years.

“I believe this is a very good contractual arrangement for the district,” said Jeffrey Petrus, assistant superintendent for business. “With skyrocketing fuel costs, this 3 percent extension is very beneficial and much less than if we went out to bid.”

Petrus said the district could back out any year, noting that transportation contracts can be renewed yearly. “This just locks in a 3 percent annual increase,” he said.
