Poetry and Literature Calendar (March 16-March 22)

Tuesday, 7 p.m.: “Ruth Stone and Her Daughters: The Topography of Artistic Collaborations Between a Poet, an Artist and a Writer,” a lecture by literary scholar Kandace Brill Lombart. Research and Information Commons, Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Amherst.

Wednesday, 6:15 P.M.: Spotlight on Youth: Open format poetry, spoken word, musical performance, dance and visual arts series for young people, ages 12 to 21. Just Buffalo Literary Center, Western New York Book Arts Center (second floor), 468 Washington St. (at Mohawk Street).

Wednesday, 7:30 P.M.: The Screening Room Reading Series presents a performance by the African-American women’s drum, percussive,and storytelling ensemble Daughters of Creative Sound, featuring Karima Amin, Sharon Jordan Holley and Denise Chapman-Acosta. Northtown Plaza Business Center, 3131 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. $2.

Thursday, 8 p.m.: The Moonbucket Reading Tour, a poetry reading featuring Western Massachusetts-based poets Luke Bloomfield, Brian Foley and Wendy Xu. Bloomfield is the author of “Russian Novels” (Factory Hollow Press, 2014) and the chapbook “The Duffel Bag” (FHP, 2011). He is an editor of the online journal Notnostrums. Foley is the author of “The Constitution” (Black Ocean, April 2014) and is the editor of Brave Men Press. His chapbook, “TOTEM,” made out of recycled jeans, will be released by Fact-Simile Editions later this year. Wendy Xu is the author of “You Are Not Dead” (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2013) and two chapbooks. She co-edits and publishes iO: A Journal of New American Poetry / iO Books, and curates the jubilat / Jones Reading Series in Western Massachusetts. Sweetness 7 Café, 220 Grant St.
