The Sabres’ Week Ahead

Today – Montreal: Thomas Vanek will play his first career game against the Sabres after spending 598 in a Buffalo uniform. Will the First Niagara Center crowd boo or cheer him?

Tuesday – At Calgary: It’s pretty amazing the game will be held in the Saddledome, where last summer’s flood left the first nine rows of seats under brackish water.

Thursday – At Edmonton: When the Sabres visited back in 2009, I was as ill as I’ve ever been. Unable to call in sick, I at least got an easy game – a 10-2 win by Buffalo.

Next Sunday – At Vancouver: John Tortorella is supposed to be on the Canucks’ bench for the game, but the way things are going that’s no guarantee.
