Buffalo food trucks will feed hungry NCAA fans

More than two dozen food trucks now roam the streets of Buffalo, and they could play a role, especially on Thursday, when the first session of games ends between 4 and 5:30 p.m.

“They didn’t exist to any extent in 2010 when the NCAAs were here, so it’s a different world now. I would think they should be able to help feed the masses,” Healy said.

But food truck operators said rules making some parts of the downtown off-limits to them will severely hinder them.

“Due to some of the boundary restrictions to the downtown vending district, it will be tough for us to get right into the action,” said Brenden Haggerty, owner of the Whole Hog food truck.

Haggerty said he hopes he can set up at Canalside, near the arena.

“I think people will be drawn toward the Naval Park and the water, so we should get a lot of foot traffic,” he said.
