To honor the memory of Buffalo Police Officer Patricia Parete, the Badge of Honor Association will dedicate a sign in her honor at 10 a.m. April 4 at West Chippewa Street and Whitney Place, where she was shot Dec. 5, 2006.

The association is dedicated to honoring police officers who are killed in the line of duty.

The organization has commissioned a 3-foot-by-4-foot sign to be put in place there in her memory.

The Buffalo Police Benevolent Association put out a notice Tuesday to encourage all available law enforcement personnel to attend the ceremony at the scene of the shooting.

Paralyzed from the neck down when she was shot, Parete died of complications from that wound Feb. 2, 2013.
