Restaurant Review: Firefly Cupcakes is the perfect place to satisfy sweet tooth

Although Valentine’s Day seems long gone, everyone deserves a delicious date night or just a sweet treat to brighten the day.

If you have a hankering for sweets, Firefly Cupcakes, owned by Wendy Egloff since 2010, is the place to be. Located in the heart of East Aurora (next to Vidler’s), it’s the perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

There are an astonishing variety of cupcakes. Seasonal flavors have included Tropical Pineapple, Margarita, Key Lime Pie, Root Beer Float and Pumpkin Spice. My personal favorites are Chocolate Explosion, Vanilla Bean and Red Velvet. Firefly also carries flavors such as PBC (peanut butter chocolate cake), Bugs Bunny (carrot cake), I Do Love Lemon, Caramel Apple, Coasted Toconut, Black Forest, Banana Bread, Apple Pie a la Noey, Mocha, Sea Salted Caramel and Chocolate Sea Salted Caramel, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Vanilla Peanut Butter Chip, Lemon Blueberry, Cookie Dough and Velvet Inferno. There also are gluten-free and vegan options.

Firefly is affordable and convenient for takeout if you’re on the go. They also carry push cakes (two little cakes in a push-up package), Firefly jars (cupcakes layered in a jar) and mini cupcakes. Firefly will ship or deliver orders.

The modern and classy place is a popular hangout for people of all ages. I go there every chance I get. The employees always are nice and helpful when it comes to ordering. When the weather turns nice again, there also are tables and chairs outside.
