ALWAYS ON SUNDAY – Help keep the Lancaster Public Library open on its busiest day – Sunday – by joining the Friends of the Lancaster Public Library in a family-oriented fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Elks Lodge 1478, 33 Legion Parkway, Lancaster.

There will be auctions, drawings and other activities. Door prize is an iPad Mini. Tickets are $10. Kids under 10 are free.

You can help even more by donating an auction basket or cash. A contribution of $300 will underwrite an entire Sunday, which will be designated in your honor. For info, call the library at 683-1120 or Gary S. Howell at 440-4688.


LET’S GO SHOPPING – St. Andrew’s Church will host its annual flea market and rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the Parish Hall, 111 Crocker St., Sloan. The kitchen also will be open for breakfast and lunch. For table rental or donations, call 892-0425.

St. Gabriel’s Church, 5271 Clinton St., Elma, is holding its annual theme basket raffle Sunday. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Drawings start at 2 p.m. There will be a bounce house for the kids, free ice cream, side raffles and food for purchase.

IRISH EYES – Free draft beer all night long is included in the $25 ticket price for the St. Patrick’s Day Party on Saturday evening in Orchard Park Post 567, American Legion, 3750 N. Buffalo Road. So is free coffee and tea.

It starts at 6:30. Corned beef and ham dinners are at 7. The Irish band Penny Whiskey plays from 8 to 11. For reservations, call 662-9780.

Monsignor Nash Council, Knights of Columbus, 261 South Legion Drive, South Buffalo, will host two St. Patrick’s Day parties this weekend.

The first, from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, features corned beef sandwiches, Irish dancers and the Take a Break Band.

The second, from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, serves up corned beef dinners, more Irish dancers and music by the Emerald Isle Band. Donation is $5.

ST. JOSEPH, TOO – Realty USA’s Amherst-Clarence office, 6000 Sheridan Drive, Amherst, will host its 30th annual St. Joseph’s Table at noon Tuesday. A $10 donation is requested. Proceeds will be divided among the Make A Wish Foundation in honor of Melanie Luongo, who died Jan. 22, and the families of Jackson Shea and Nathan Brundage.
