The Buffalo Police Athletic League will hold a board meeting at noon today in which the future of the annual Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be voted upon, the News has learned.
A simple majority of the meeting’s attendees will decide the event’s fate. An announcement will follow.
The Macker, usually held in late June, brings out the best hoops talents of all ages and countless fans who show up to see likes of local stars Jason Rowe and Damone Brown on the court.
There is no early indication as to which way the board will lean on the matter.
“I feel good we’ll have a favorable decision,” said PAL Executive Director Modie Cox.
