Two 18-year-old Buffalo men were charged with assault and weapons counts Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old homeless man near a delicatessen in the 800 block of Tonawanda Street about 6:50 p.m. Monday.

Nino Buggs and Robert L. Jones were taken into custody shortly after the stabbing of Jamel Kerns based on witnesses’ descriptions of where the two of them fled when Kerns ran bleeding into the deli seeking help.

Kerns, who has no known home address, was taken to Erie County Medical Center where he was treated for two upper body stab wounds and discharged, Police have not discussed a possible motive for the incident.
