NIAGARA FALLS – A Buffalo man was charged with shoplifting from two stores in the Fashion Outlet mall, after an arrest at one store led Niagara County sheriff’s deputies to discover stolen merchandise from a second store just before 7 p.m. Monday on Military Road.
James E. Singleton, 38, of Bailey Avenue, was charged with shoplifting a pair of shoes valued at $69.99 from Famous Footwear and a pair of jeans valued at $49.50 from Tommy Hilfiger.
A clerk at Famous Footwear said Singleton was observed putting a pair of shoes in a bag he was carrying and then leave the store. He was held until deputies arrived and questioned about a pair of jeans in the bag with the shoes that did not have a receipt.
A manager at Tommy Hilfiger said she remembered him in the store and a check of store security showed Singleton putting the jeans in the bag he was carrying while in the store.
