LOCKPORT – A repeat felon pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a weapon Tuesday in State Supreme Court.
Deron A. Weaver, 28, of McKoon Avenue, Niagara Falls, was arrested in a police raid on his home about 5 a.m. May 23. Officers seized a .40-caliber pistol, which they said Weaver grabbed when police broke into his bedroom. They also said they seized 2.8 grams of crack cocaine, Weaver’s car and $1,101 in cash. As part of Tuesday’s plea deal, Weaver had to forfeit the money.
Weaver was not allowed to own a gun because of his prior felony conviction. He faces up to seven years in prison, with a mandatory minimum of two years, when he is sentenced June 19 by Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.
