Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced late Tuesday that all Erie offices will be closed Wednesday because of the blizzard warning issued by the National Weather Service.
However, he said, emergency and essential employees should report to work.
“I am encouraging residents to stay home and not travel if they do not have to. This storm is dangerous and the NWS team has indicated that there will likely be full blizzard conditions including extreme cold, high winds, and blowing snow that will cause whiteouts. It is expected that the weather will change from minor snowfall Wednesday morning to full whiteouts in a short time. Extreme caution should be exercised by the public to avoid being trapped as the storm moves across our area.”
