LOCKPORT – A Niagara Falls man was arraigned Monday in Niagara County Court on a three-count indictment charging him with stealing more than $3,000 worth of appliances, pipes and other metal objects from a house about 10 blocks from the suspect’s home.

Joseph L. Ebert, 43, of Ashland Avenue, pleaded not guilty to burglary, grand larceny and criminal mischief, all in the third degree.

Assistant District Attorney Kevin D. Canali said the alleged thefts occurred between August and November 2012 at a home in the 700 block of Ashland Avenue. Investigators said Ebert was connected to the crime by a fingerprint found at the scene.

Ebert remains free on a $5,000 bail bond pending further court action.
