Lockport restaurant worker charged with stealing money

LOCKPORT – An employee of Molinaro’s Ristorante in Lockport was arrested Friday by Lockport police and charged with stealing more than $1,000 from the till.

Jade A. Harris, 20, of Church Street, Lockport, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

Police said restaurant management became suspicious when the cash drawer kept coming up short, beginning about Oct. 1. They checked their schedule to see who was working when that happened, and then found surveillance video of Harris allegedly stealing from the drawer.

Harris and her live-in boyfriend, Jonathan A. Aquino, 23, also were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana when they were picked up at the Rite Aid drugstore at South Transit and West High streets.
