HANOVER – An Angola man was listed in stable condition in Erie County Medical Center Sunday after he was hurt in a one-car crash Saturday night in Chautauqua County.

George W. Murray, 44, of North Main Street, was flown to the Buffalo hospital by Mercy Flight after his eastbound auto ran off the right shoulder of routes 5 and 20 in Hanover about 10:40 p.m. Saturday, struck a snowbank and continued forward before shearing off a utility pole, breaking it in half.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies said they could not determine a reason for the crash.
