Outdoors notebook: Lake Ontario to be discussed

A State of Lake Ontario meeting is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building in Lockport on Thursday evening.

Ontario, with nearly three million acres of waters, supports a healthy population of cold- and warm-water fish species; anglers enjoy more than 2.5 million angler days fishing each year for salmon, trout, bass, walleye, perch and assorted panfish on this Great Lake.

To review fisheries assessments programs prior to the Lake Ontario meeting, go to dec.ny.gov/outdoor/27068.
