When: 6:30 tonight at Buffalo State Sports Arena.

Admission: $6 (for Class A-AA doubleheader).

New York State Sportswriters Association Class A ranking: 1. II-Scotia-Glenville; 4. East; McKinley honorable mention.

How they got here: McKinley beat Cheektowaga, 67-53, for its second straight overall Section VI A championship; East beat Geneva, 61-48, for the overall Section V A title.

McKinley starters and key reserves: 6-1 sr. Varin Lenard, 6-4 jr. Devin Morris, 5-10 sr. D’Andre Steward, 5-6 so. Juwan Toliver, 6-4 sr. Dante Thompson; 6-0 so. Keyon Johnson, 5-8 so. Jaylen Prophet, 6-1 so. Shaquan Jones, 6-0 sr. Jeremy Kelley, 6-2 jr. Jorge Melendez.

Court vision: The Macks remarkably continue their defense of the Class A state public school title it won last year despite a new starting five. Like the other large school class (AA), this season Section V has been considered to have the stronger teams than Section VI. The only losses for East, which is coached by alum and former Canisius College standout Darrell Barley, were to Albany power Green Tech, McQuaid and Jamestown (in OT).

Who’s got next: The winner advances to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association final four at the Glens Falls Civic Center. It will play in the semifinals next Saturday at 9 a.m. against Section IX (Dutchess County area) champion Red Hook, which defeated Section I (Westchester County area) Walter Panas, 60-46, Friday in a downstate regional playoff.
