UNIONTOWN Pa. – The Daemen College men’s basketball team saw its 14-game winning streak, as well as its season, come to an end on Thursday in a 58-57 loss to Washington Adventist in the semifinal round of the USCAA Division I Championship Tournament.

The No.-1 seeded Wildcats close their third consecutive 20-win season at 21-7.

Seniors Kadeem Johnson and Uchechi Ogbonna led the Wildcats with 15 points each. Ogbonna also grabbed nine rebounds, while Johnson had eight.

Anthony Berry of Washington Adventist scored on a tough drive over a couple of defenders with 53 seconds left to provide the winning points. Daemen missed a three-point shot at the buzzer.

Daemen forward Gerald Beverly, coming off a 40-point game on Wednesday, saw constant double and triple teams.

Daemen ends the season as the East Coast Conference champions and will take a 35-game home winning streak into next season.
