Cambria man pleads guilty to growing marijuana

LOCKPORT – A Cambria man pleaded guilty Thursday in Niagara County Veterans Court to growing marijuana at his Ridge Road home.

Eric V. Wisor, 51, who served 24 years in the Air National Guard, admitted to second-degree criminal possession of marijuana for having 4.47 pounds of marijuana. The county Drug Task Force seized 48 pot plants from his garage in an April 8 raid.

Wisor will be on probation for two years while he undergoes drug treatment, County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas said. If he succeeds in treatment, his charge will be reduced or dropped.

The same regimen was ordered for James S. Laboda, 65, of Tonawanda Creek Road, Lockport, who pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated, stemming from a Sept. 2 arrest on South Transit Road in Lockport. He is an Army combat veteran who served in Vietnam from 1968-71.
