WHEATFIELD – A 30-year-old woman told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies Monday that she was notified by her bank that her debit card was used without her authorization to make over $72 in purchases on Feb. 24 -26. She told deputies that the phone number and email were traced to the Town of Amherst Controller’s office.

The woman said five unauthorized transactions, including medication, diet products, a game and deer antler spray were among the items purchased over the three days. She said some of the medications were delivered to her house and she was able to provide the suspected phone number to deputies.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
