Chris Laffler, an Executive Committee member of the United Irish American Association of Erie County, has been elected grand marshal of Buffalo’s 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which will be held March 16 on Delaware Avenue.
Laffler, a lifelong Town of Tonawanda resident and a customer account manager for General Mills, named his wife, Christine, and sons, Brendan and Connor, to be his deputy marshals, along with his longtime friend, UIAA President Garry Johnson.
Laffler worked as a volunteer on the parade for many years as a route and division marshal before he was elected to the Executive Committee. He currently serves as the committee’s sergeant-at-arms. Information on the parade can be obtained by visiting www.BuffaloStPatricksDayParade.com or calling 875-0282.
